Georgian Foreign Ministry Addresses Armenia-Azerbaijan Tensions
The Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement regarding the situation along the Armenia-Azerbaijan contact line:
“We are closely monitoring the latest military escalation between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which, according to available information, has resulted in casualties and damages to infrastructure. We hope that a ceasefire agreement will be reached, the parties will enter into a negotiation mode, and avoid large-scale military operations that would have a sharply negative impact on the security of the entire region.”
“Georgia calls on the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and international actors to exert all efforts to stop the escalation and resume constructive dialogue. Furthermore, we declare that Georgia is ready to contribute in any way to de-escalation and establishing peace in the region,” the statement reads.
