We Demand the Activation of Special Waste Management Mechanisms to Prevent the Spread of the Pandemic: Vahagn Varagyan

Environmental issues are increasing day by day in Yerevan. This was stated by Vahagn Varagyan, the head of the "Green Future" environmental movement, on his Facebook page.

“Some of these issues arise from inadequate and poorly organized administrative work, while others result from inaction. The right to have a healthy and green city for ourselves and future generations is at risk. Through united efforts, we can and must restore our inherited green environment. We demand the appropriate organization of the development and maintenance of the city's green areas. We call for an end to illegal tree cutting caused by environmental violations. Special waste management mechanisms should be implemented to clean areas contaminated with masks to prevent the spread of the pandemic. Systematic efforts should be undertaken to reduce the pollution level from household waste in the capital,” Varagyan wrote.
