Continuous Accidents in Berkanush: Marukyan Suggests Building a Bridge

The leader of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction in the National Assembly, Edmon Marukyan, has made the following post on his Facebook page:

“Dear citizens,

I would like to inform you that I have just addressed the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Suren Papikyan, regarding the following issue. I have received numerous complaints from citizens expressing their concern about the continuous road traffic accidents occurring near the 15th kilometer of the Yerevan-Meghri interstate road, in the administrative area of the Artashat Berkanush community. They assert that the reason for the accidents is the opening of an alternative road in an unauthorized area, specifically cutting the dividing iron barriers for vehicles to make U-turns.

This section is mainly used by residents of Berkanush, Baghramyan, and Dalar villages, and it is also the route used by farmers to move their livestock.

Along the stretch of road from the Artashat Bridge towards Yerevan, the villages of Mrgavan, Dalar, Berkanush, Baghramyan, and Azatavan are located, and there is currently only one functioning bridge in the Azatavan area.

I have suggested to the minister to build a bridge in the Berkanush village area to avoid further traffic accidents and to facilitate the movement of citizens. I will publish the minister's response on my official page as soon as I receive it.”
