Explosion at Hezbollah Weapons Depot Near Beirut
An explosion occurred on September 22 in a Hezbollah weapons depot in southern Lebanon. According to reports by Armenpress citing Al Jazeera, the Lebanese NNA official news agency stated that the explosion took place in the village of En-Kana, approximately 50 kilometers south of the capital, Beirut.
The Hezbollah press service informed Al Jazeera that the explosion was caused by a "technical error" in their weapons storage, resulting in black smoke rising into the sky. "The explosion occurred in the house where the weapon was stored, as a result of a technical malfunction. No one was killed or injured; the building belonged to a demining association associated with Hezbollah," reported Zayna Khodr, Al Jazeera's correspondent from Beirut.
On August 4, a powerful explosion also occurred at the Beirut port, caused by the improper storage of nearly 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate. This explosion resulted in about 200 deaths, injured 6,500 people, and damaged tens of thousands of buildings in the capital, Beirut.
On September 10, a fire broke out in a storage facility for tires and fuel-lubricants in the port area of Beirut, but there were no injuries reported. On September 15, another fire ignited in a commercial complex under construction in downtown Beirut.
