Stabbing During Argument Over Household Issue: Charges Filed Against Aravashat Resident
On September 6, 2020, at 23:55, the "Astghik" Medical Center reported that a 27-year-old resident of the Aravashat community had sought medical assistance for a penetrating stab wound to the left side of the chest and left-sided pneumothorax.
Following investigative and procedural actions conducted by the Vagharshapat investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, it was determined that at around 21:30 on the same day, in the Aravashat community of the Armavir region, during a dispute that arose over a household issue, a 24-year-old resident of the same community attacked the 27-year-old villager with a sharp cutting-stabbing tool, intentionally causing severe harm to his health with a penetrating injury to the left side of the chest. Additionally, during the same incident, the 24-year-old also struck the face of the victim's friend, a 25-year-old man, inflicting bodily injury.
Based on the gathered evidence, the 24-year-old has been charged under Article 112 (causing substantial harm intentionally) and Article 118 (beating) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. He has been placed under bail as a preventive measure. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
