It’s a Matter of Time: Tikhanovskaya on Lukashenko's Departure from the Presidency of Belarus
Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, a former presidential candidate of Belarus, has authored an article for the American Washington Post, in which she announced plans for the opposition to continue mass actions against the state apparatus and support for workers striking in factories. "We have only to remain united. And do not ask whether we will win. We have already won," Tikhanovskaya wrote in her article intended for the American publication.
She noted that Belarus has already crossed the "point of no return" and that President Alexander Lukashenko will eventually leave power. "As a country, we have crossed that threshold. Lukashenko has no future as the leader of this country, and it's only a matter of time before he leaves power," Tikhanovskaya stated.
"But for now, we must continue to put our efforts into action. And we already know from experience exactly what needs to be done," her article concludes.
