Georgi Gorgisyan Involved in Organizing Protest Against Araik Harutyunyan
The newspaper "Joghovurd" reports that according to its information, the protests being organized against the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Araik Harutyunyan are primarily being handled by Georgi Gorgisyan, a member of the National Assembly from the "Bright Armenia" faction.
It is noteworthy that on September 16, there will be a discussion in parliament regarding the response to an inquiry directed to the government of the Republic of Armenia by the "Bright Armenia" party, during which the opposition faction will express a vote of no confidence in Araik Harutyunyan. The basis for this will be the response to the inquiry published on the National Assembly's website on July 3.
Furthermore, the supporters and party members of the Bright Armenia faction will hold a protest in front of the National Assembly demanding the minister's resignation. Georgi Gorgisyan is working hard to ensure a large turnout on that day.
Interestingly, on that same day, a traditional Q&A session between the National Assembly and the government will take place, and Minister Harutyunyan is expected to attend.
It should be noted that months ago, the opposition faction sent inquiries to the government raising issues that have remained unresolved since Harutyunyan’s appointment as minister. Despite the ministry's detailed responses attempting to convey that work has been done, the opposition remains unconvinced, leading to the decision to express a vote of no confidence.
