Russia's Ministry of Justice Plans to Suspend Yefremov's Lawyer
The Russian Ministry of Justice is set to submit a motion regarding the suspension of lawyer Elman Pashaev's professional activities, as reported by the agency's website.
It is noteworthy that Pashaev was the lawyer for actor Mikhail Yefremov, defending him in a case concerning a fatal road traffic accident that occurred in Moscow. Following a tense trial, the Presnensky District Court of the capital sentenced Yefremov to eight years in prison for the traffic accident that resulted in a death while he was intoxicated.
Pashaev unsuccessfully attempted to prove that the artist was not behind the wheel and that another individual was driving the vehicle.
The ministry also recommended initiating disciplinary proceedings against Alexander Dobrovinsky. It is important to note that Dobrovinsky is the representative of the victim's interests.
Earlier, the Deputy President of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers, Gennady Sharov, informed RIA Novosti that the Chamber of Lawyers of North Ossetia had found a disciplinary violation in Pashaev's actions.
