The Ministry of Education Proposes to Revise the Process of Selecting the Best Teacher and Principal
The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasian, made a post on her Facebook page announcing that the draft of the competition for the best individuals of the year has been presented for public discussion. The proposal includes a comprehensive review of the entire process for determining the best teachers, principals, and other employees in the sector.
“Specifically, the experience gained from these competitions shows that they were primarily aimed at assessing the results of employees' work over the years. Moreover, considering the level of remuneration in the education sector, they often practically became tools for solving social issues,” she noted.
It is essential to supplement the policy of encouraging sector employees with tools that also promote their creativity and innovation. For this purpose, we have transformed the methodology for recognizing the best individuals of the year. As a result, we will evaluate and select the best program proposals in various categories, which will also be encouraged and given the opportunity to be implemented. Consequently, the state will be able to obtain additional results by investing funds.
Importantly, with the proposed changes, teachers, principals, and other employees will be able to submit group applications, fostering collaboration and ensuring cooperative results. The proposed solutions aim to support the implementation of new programs by active directors, teachers, and other specialists involved in institutions, encouraging creative activities, the introduction and application of more effective working methods and tools, and the dissemination of successful practices.
