The Incident Happened Completely Differently: Lawyer on the Case Involving the Malakyan Brothers

I am confident that if those spreading this information paused to consider how they are violating the presumption of innocence of the Malakyan brothers or the significant damage they are causing to the Armenian national team and Armenian football by presenting an incomplete and biased account, they would halt.

This was stated by lawyer Gor Mikayelyan on his Facebook page. He added, “Since yesterday, the entire internet has been flooded with information alleging that members of the Armenian national football team have committed hooliganism and assaulted police officers. I firmly assert that the circulated information is highly subjective, one-sided, exaggerated, and incomplete. In reality, even if we were to believe the claims made by the police within the framework of the criminal case, the incident occurred in a completely different manner than reported to the public.”

“I believe we will soon witness denials from the official sources that spread this information. P.S. The Malakyan brothers extend their gratitude for the words of support from thousands of fans, hundreds of teammates, and coaches...,” wrote Mikayelyan.
