Criminal Case Opened Following Explosion at 'Proshyan Wine Factory'
On September 1, 2020, around 12:00 PM, violations of safety regulations occurred during welding operations near the wine collection tanks at the 'Proshyan Wine Factory' branch located in Armavir village, Armavir region, leading to an explosion. As a result, two employees of the factory died due to negligence, while four others sustained various levels of injuries and burns, necessitating their transport to the 'Armavir' medical center.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Armavir regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee under the characteristics of the second part of Article 157 of the RA Criminal Code (violation of safety regulations). An inspection of the incident site has been conducted, and several employees have been questioned. Six employees of the aforementioned factory have been recognized as victims in the criminal case. Forensic medical examinations and autopsies have been appointed, and an investigation is ongoing.
Notice: The suspect or defendant in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty by a final verdict of the court, as prescribed by the code of criminal procedure of the Republic of Armenia.
