Court Rejects Prosecutor Gevorg Sargsyan's Recusal Motion

The Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Arthur Mkrtchyan, has just announced its decision regarding the recusal motion filed against Prosecutor Gevorg Sargsyan.

The court rejected the motion, which had been submitted by the former president of the State Revenue Committee and ex-Minister of Finance Gagik Khachaturyan’s defenders, Yerem Sargsyan and Amram Makinyan, stating that the prosecutor has no bias in this case.

The defenders also argued that the right to a fair trial has been violated.
