Shooting in Yerevan: Blood-like Traces Found at the Intersection of Armenakyan and Hovsepyan Streets; One Citizen Hospitalized
A shooting occurred in Yerevan earlier this evening. Around 10:00 PM, a report was received by the Central Division of the Police from the number 1 university hospital stating that a group of emergency medical responders had brought in a citizen with injuries.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Central Division of Police, led by Division Chief Arman Papyan, has arrived at the hospital. While the doctors were providing first aid to the injured individual, police officers from the Central Division determined that the victim received his injuries at the intersection of Armenakyan and Hovsepyan streets in Norq Marash. The operational group led by Papyan found blood-like traces at the scene.
The police are working to establish the identity of the victim. According to G. Shamshyan, officers have also gathered operational information to clarify the circumstances of the incident, though details are not being released at this time due to the interests of the investigation. Reports suggest that the injuries were caused by shots fired from a gas pistol.
