VIDEO: The Soldier Who Shot Down Azerbaijani 'ORBITER-3' UAV is Discharged

23-year-old Vardan is one of the soldiers who shot down the Azerbaijani reconnaissance ‘ORBITER-3’ drone amidst the tense situation in Tavush last month. Just two days before the end of his military service on July 18, Sergeant Vardan, alongside his squad, was tasked with a critical mission.

“We were on combat duty when we received the task to locate the enemy's unmanned aerial vehicle. After completing our work, we found it and were ordered to shoot it down. Together with our unit commander, we successfully accomplished the task we were given,” Vardan told NEWS.am in an interview.
