Movie Theaters Reopen in Moscow Starting Today
With the permission of Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, movie theaters in Moscow will resume operations starting August 1. However, strict adherence to safety protocols for protection against COVID-19 will continue to be mandatory.
According to eadaily.com, only family members will be allowed to sit next to each other in cinema halls, while strangers must maintain distance from one another. The source details that there are ten movie premieres planned for visitors.
It was noted that some theaters have already started operating under the new conditions in certain districts, while the epidemiological situation still does not allow others to open.
“We are very happy that the Moscow theaters are reopening. This is very important for the country, as this is essentially the main market. Everyone is starting to look at Moscow; everyone is waiting with joy and caution at this moment,” said Oleg Berezin, director of the association of theater operators.
According to him, serious preparatory work has been carried out for the organization of visitor safety before the theaters opened, and training sessions have been conducted for staff to operate under new conditions.
