Investigation Into Theft by Restaurant Complex's General Manager Concluded

The investigation into the theft of a significant amount of money from the cash register by the manager of a restaurant complex, aimed at placing bets, has been concluded. This information was provided by the Investigative Committee, detailing the case.

The investigation, conducted by the Vagharshapat investigative department of the Armavir regional investigation office, has been completed regarding the criminal case initiated due to the theft by the general manager of the restaurant complex.

According to the findings, a 35-year-old resident of Yerevan, who worked as the general manager at a restaurant complex in the Parakar community of Armavir province since August 2019, was entrusted with receiving payments from customers for their orders and entering them into the cash register. From September 2019 to November 17 of the same year, he used his position to obtain a total of 4,654,800 AMD from the customers visiting the restaurant complex, which he did not enter into the cash register, thereby embezzling the funds belonging to the complex.

Based on the sufficient evidence collected, the general manager of the restaurant complex has been charged under Article 179, Part 3, Subparagraph 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code (embezzlement or misappropriation). A signature not to leave the jurisdiction has been chosen as a measure of restraint against him. The investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been forwarded to court with an indictment.
