Father and Son Repeatedly Steal Highway Bridge Slabs
As a result of operational-investigative measures taken by the detectives of the Artashat Police Division, a 47-year-old man was detained on July 23 at 11:30 AM on suspicion of theft, followed by his 18-year-old son at 12:00 PM.
It was revealed that between July 5 and 22, the father and son had repeatedly stolen concrete slabs from a bridge on the Yerevan-Eraskh highway. The stolen property has been recovered.
On the same night, the Artashat criminal investigators received similar information regarding another bridge on the Yerevan-Eraskh road, where theft was also occurring. As a result of operational actions, the police caught two young men, aged 22 and 24, during the act of stealing along with their Nissan vehicle. It was discovered that the young men had already dismantled several dozen facing slabs and loaded them into their car, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they were unable to complete the theft.
The vehicle has been moved to a secure area of the police division. The stolen property has been seized. The damage from both incidents is being assessed. Relevant materials are being prepared.
