The Mayor of Aramus Community in Kotayk Province Submits Resignation
The mayor of Aramus community in Kotayk Province, Hrayer Nikoghosyan, has submitted his resignation to the community council. This was reported by the Kotayk Province administration.
"Guided by point 14 of part 1 of Article 18 and part 1 of Article 26 of the Law on Local Self-Government, and based on the application of Hrayer Nikoghosyan, the council of Aramus community has decided to prematurely terminate the powers of the Mayor of Aramus community, Hrayer Nikoghosyan, as of July 20, 2020," the statement said.
The council has acknowledged the resignation and has formally addressed the Kotayk governor. In accordance with the established timeframe and the provisions of Articles 26 and 27 of the Law on Local Self-Government, the governor will appoint an acting mayor until the extraordinary election of the community mayor.
It should be noted that Hrayer Nikoghosyan has been leading the Aramus community since 2002, for nearly 18 years.
