‘Zhoghovurd’: What Have MPs Been Warned About?
‘Zhoghovurd’ newspaper reports: “The next session of the National Assembly will begin on May 26. During these days, committee meetings are taking place, based on which the agenda for the upcoming session will be formed. In addition to this session, further meetings are expected to be held starting from June 16. However, the general session of the National Assembly will not conclude with this.
Moreover, according to information from ‘Zhoghovurd’, there will be no shortage of extraordinary sessions until July. There are several reasons for this, according to our sources. First, due to the coronavirus situation, it often becomes necessary to convene extraordinary or special sessions to make amendments to previously adopted decisions. Additionally, the National Assembly still needs to discuss projects that may require prolonged deliberation.
For example, this includes discussions regarding the execution of the state budget for 2019 and the reports on the activities of the Prosecutor General’s Office for 2019. In addition to these projects, as already mentioned, MPs may frequently need to hold sessions due to the coronavirus situation, and according to our sources, MPs have already been warned that a heated and tense period is anticipated soon, and everyone must be prepared at any moment to come to the National Assembly and participate in an extraordinary session.”
