US to Allocate Additional $1 Million to Armenia
The US government will allocate an additional $1 million to Armenia through the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
This assistance, alongside previous funding, will be directed towards addressing several key issues:
- Preparing laboratory systems
- Activating case detection and event-based surveillance
- Supporting technical specialists to improve response and preparedness levels
- Enhancing risk communication.
To date, USAID has provided approximately $2.7 million in funding to help Armenia respond more effectively to the COVID-19 pandemic.
