Report of Crime Against Sasun Mikayelyan by Edmon Marukyan's Brother Sent to Special Investigation Service

The report regarding the crime presented by Edgar Marukyan, the brother of Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the parliamentary faction "Enlightened Armenia," has been forwarded to the Special Investigation Service by the Prosecutor's Office for further investigation. This information was communicated to the media by the public relations department of the Prosecutor's Office.

It should be noted that Edgar Marukyan filed a report against parliament member Sasun Mikayelyan from the "My Step" faction, considering Mikayelyan's remarks made in the National Assembly hall, "I will break your head," and "I will cut your throat," as threats.

In response to Sasun Mikayelyan's statements on Facebook, Edgar Marukyan indicated that the latter should quickly apologize and referred to those who say such things as at least a ***.

Marukyan reported that after that, a person named Harutyun contacted him through social media, who introduced himself as a fellow villager and friend of Mikayelyan, requesting to delete the post. Subsequently, another individual claiming to be Sasun Mikayelyan's nephew contacted him via social media, and they spoke over the phone. As a result, the young man admitted that he did not insult Sasun Mikayelyan.

Following this, on May 1, Sasun Mikayelyan stated from the podium of the National Assembly: "What Edmon said to Alen from this podium without any shame, the same has been written about me by Edmon's brother. I will not respond with his words. I advise the elder to apologize to my parent and to Alen's parent."
