6 Million 720 Thousand: Bonuses for City Hall Officials
The Mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, issued an order on May 8, granting bonuses to 20 officials from the city hall. This was reported by panorama.am.
Among those who received bonuses are all four of Marutyan's deputies, each of whom was allocated 480,000 dram from the city budget. The chief architect of Yerevan, Artur Meschyan, and the secretary of the staff, Vahe Khachatryan, also received the same amount. An assistant to the mayor, Karen Harutyunyan, was granted a bonus of 200,000 dram. Bonuses of 280,000 dram were awarded to 13 heads of departments.
It is noteworthy that even during the pandemic, when many residents of Yerevan are facing food issues, city hall officials are not refusing bonuses. It is important to remember that in many countries, officials have opted for salary reductions due to the situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
