Turkey's COVID-19 Death Toll Reaches 4,171
On May 18, a total of 31 people succumbed to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) in Turkey. This was reported by the country’s Health Minister Fahrettin Koca on his official Twitter page.
He noted that 1,158 new cases of the virus were confirmed from 25,141 tests conducted in one day. During the same period, 31 deaths among the infected were recorded, while 1,615 people have recovered.
According to official data, a total of 111,577 people have recovered from the pandemic in Turkey so far, with 903 patients currently in intensive care units. Consequently, the total number of confirmed infections is reported to be 150,591, alongside 4,171 deaths. The total number of tests conducted has reached 1,650,135.
The peak of the coronavirus outbreak in Turkey was recorded at the end of April. Currently, the published data indicates a gradual decline in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
