Police Officer Dismissed for Drug Use
Information has been received at the Internal Security Department of the Police of Armenia that an assistant to the squad commander of the Vanadzor Division of the Police's Department of Public Security and the squad commander himself used drugs.
A service investigation was initiated by the acting Chief of Police on November 22, 2019. In the framework of this investigation, the police officer underwent a toxicological examination on November 26, 2020. According to the expert's conclusion, cannabinoids were found in his urine and hair samples.
Based on the recommendation of the Police Disciplinary Commission and by the order of the acting Chief of Police on December 23, 2019, the disciplinary sanction of "Dismissal from the Police" was applied to the officer.
