Ilham Aliyev Claims 'Molotov Cocktail' was Invented by Azerbaijanis
The current leader of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has claimed that it was Azerbaijanis who invented the 'Molotov cocktail.' This incendiary device is currently being thrown at law enforcement during various protests. Made from bottles filled with flammable liquid, which are ignited and thrown at opponents, they explode upon impact, causing significant damage.
This method was initially used by Finns against Soviet troops during the Winter War. They first referred to it as the 'cocktail for Molotov,' in reference to Vyacheslav Molotov, the Soviet Foreign Minister. It later became simply known as the 'Molotov cocktail.'
According to Aliyev, 'Azerbaijani scientists' contributed to the Soviet Union's victory during the Great Patriotic War against the USSR.
