There are currently 350 available hospital beds in the system: Torosyan
During a session of the Standing Committee on Health and Social Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia, Health Minister Arsen Torosyan reported that the burden on the healthcare system is gradually increasing.
"It is still a bearable burden; however, as the burden increases, we must ensure that we do not reach a day when a citizen in need of medical assistance is left without help. This is our primary goal at the moment," said the minister. He also noted that there is currently no shortage of equipment or medical personnel.
At this time, there are also 350 available beds in the hospital system.
In response to the question of why sufficient testing is not being conducted in Armenia, Arsen Torosyan answered that Armenia's number of conducted tests is comparable to Japan's and Italy's. "The issue is how many tests are performed for each detected case. There are countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, that conduct ten times more tests than we do, but we are not in a bad position in this regard, and our testing capabilities are gradually increasing," the minister stated.
