No Autopsies for COVID-19 Victims in Artsakh, Personal Belongings Not Burned
According to a decision by the Artsakh governor, autopsies will not be performed on individuals who have died from confirmed cases of coronavirus. Following this decision, once the medical certificate of death is issued, the body is handed over to the relatives in a sealed coffin.
There is no need to burn the deceased's belongings; instead, they will be disinfected. Instead of an autopsy, the body is covered with a shroud and placed in a waterproof bag intended for corpses. The bag is treated with appropriate disinfectants containing chlorine.
According to the decision, once the body is handed over to the relatives, the location where the body was temporarily stored will be completely disinfected.
