VIDEO: Smoke from Chernobyl Fires Reaches Kyiv
Smoke from wildfires in the Chernobyl Zone and Zhytomyr region has reached Kyiv. This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration.
"Smoke is observed in the capital, and residues resulting from combustion have been detected in the air. This is caused by the fires that broke out in the Zhytomyr region and the area of evacuation and mandatory resettlement, as well as by northwestern winds," officials said.
Given the situation, experts recommend:
- to limit outdoor recreation,
- to keep windows closed, especially at night and early in the morning,
- to activate air conditioning and air purification systems,
- to conduct wet cleaning, and it's beneficial to install water containers to increase air humidity,
- to increase fluid intake to 2-3 liters per day for adults, particularly recommending drinking salt and mineral alkaline water, dairy drinks (skimmed milk, whey), juices, mineral drinks, and oxygen-protein cocktails.
