Inter-farm Irrigation System Rehabilitation Program to Include 107 Communities: Papikyan

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, announced on his Facebook page that regardless of the epidemic situation, irrigation water will reach farmers. As part of a three-year program for the modernization of the irrigation network, the rehabilitation and repair work on inter-farm, intra-farm, and main channels continues. By the end of the program, approximately 390 kilometers of renovated channels are expected to be completed.

Currently, active construction work is underway in the area of the Kotayk main channel, involving the construction of a nearly 900-meter pipeline, and the construction of a 92-meter seismic-resistant aqueduct for the Arzni-Shamiram channel, as well as the construction of an aqueduct in Ujan and the rehabilitation of 7 bridges.

The inter-farm irrigation system rehabilitation program will include 107 communities, resulting in an improvement in the irrigation process for approximately 25,000 hectares of land.
