Gloves Are More Dangerous When Not Changed and Properly Removed, Torosyan
We still have to live with the coronavirus for a long time, and in this context, an important question is whether it is advisable to wear gloves and masks. This was stated today by the Minister of Health of Armenia, Arsen Torosyan, during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Health and Social Issues of the National Assembly.
He pointed out that the purpose of wearing masks and gloves in everyday life is to prevent the virus from entering the body through the mouth, nose, or ears, especially since we often touch our faces with our hands. He also advised wearing a mask in crowded places.
“The same goes for gloves: they are more dangerous when they are not changed and are not removed properly,” he said, noting that it is now suggested that masks can be worn for up to eight hours.
Arsen Torosyan stated that there is a global deficit of protective supplies and that the World Health Organization now recommends using cloth masks and washing them daily. “It is desirable to wear a mask as much as possible and in various places, but how much protection it offers depends on you. For example, washing hands more frequently is even more important than wearing a mask, but we may not always have the opportunity to wash our hands. Wearing a mask is recommended everywhere, and while I previously stated it wasn't necessary, my current advice is to encourage the use of masks,” he added.
