Former Culture Minister Demands and Receives Approximately 7 Million Dram from Director of 'Grandma's Hairs'
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has revealed that the former Minister of Culture demanded and received approximately 6,800,000 drams from the director of the film 'Grandma's Hairs', Hovhannes Galstyan, which was allocated for the film's production. The case has been sent to the Prosecutor's Office.
This information was provided by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, presenting details of the case. According to the committee, the former minister is accused of embezzlement of a particularly large amount and abuse of office, and the case has been forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office with a recommendation to send it to the Special Investigative Service.
The large-scale investigative and procedural actions conducted by the investigative department of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of the Yerevan Investigative Division confirmed that in 2017, under the pretext of covering expenses for Armenia’s participation in the Cannes Film Festival, the former Minister of Culture demanded and received approximately 6,800,000 drams from the director of 'Grandma's Hairs'.
The criminal case has been sent to the Prosecutor's Office with a recommendation to transfer it to the Special Investigative Service under the jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee.
