Non-working Mothers Will Also Receive Benefits: Details from Pashinyan
Non-working mothers can receive a benefit of 26,500 drams for one child as part of the 9th program to combat the coronavirus. This was announced today, April 6, by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan while answering citizens' questions regarding why non-working mothers do not receive benefits.
"Non-working mothers also receive maternity benefits of 156,000 drams during childbirth. We have increased these benefits by 30,000 drams since January 1, 2020. Working mothers receive benefits through their employers for 140 days of maternity leave. Additionally, preferential mortgage loans are functioning well; we've seen a 90% increase in 2019 compared to 2017. Furthermore, parents who lost their jobs between March 13-31 due to the coronavirus will receive a benefit of 100,000 drams," stated the Prime Minister.
