Nearly 600 Soldiers Infected with Coronavirus in France

The French Defense Minister Florence Parly has announced that approximately 600 French military personnel have been infected with coronavirus.

The head of the French Health Department, Jérôme Salomon, reported that the number of deaths in the republic due to the coronavirus has exceeded 6,500, with the total number of infected individuals reaching 64,338.

“About 600 soldiers in our armed forces have contracted COVID-19. We are closely monitoring the situation. I want to emphasize that this has not affected our combat readiness,” the minister stated, as reported by the newspaper Progres.

Parly added that earlier a civilian worker of the French armed forces, who was involved in the construction of defense infrastructure, had died from the coronavirus.
