26 Infected Cases in Syunik Province, Main Sources Are Italy and Russia, Says Deputy Governor
"The Ministry of Emergency Situations is disinfecting stops, crowded places, and entrances of apartment buildings on a daily basis. Since our region has three large industrial complexes, disinfection is also being carried out inside those complexes," said Syunik Deputy Governor Narek Babayan in an interview with ArmDaily.am.
According to him, after the tightening measures on March 31, checkpoints have been established on all roads entering the region and communities, where strict control is being exercised.
"The police are actively carrying out their work. If our citizens help us a little more in this matter and demonstrate high social responsibility, everything will be fine. I want to reiterate that people should leave their homes only when absolutely necessary," he emphasized.
Babayan informed that currently 7-8 hotels have approached the Tourism Committee to work as isolation areas. "As of yesterday, there are 26 infected cases, and the number of isolated individuals is quite high; I just do not know the exact figure at the moment. The main sources are Italy and Russia. The spread has come from those two hotspots."
