Certain Supermarkets Provide Employees with Symbolic Masks: AWTM Director Hakob Avagyan
During a recent press conference, Hakob Avagyan, the director of the Health and Labor Inspection Authority (HLIA), stated that some supermarkets are providing their employees with masks that serve a purely symbolic purpose. He mentioned that during ongoing inspections, it has been observed that employers give their staff masks that do not offer adequate protection.
“We pay significant attention to the fact that during our inspections, employers at supermarkets are distributing symbolic masks to employees, which cannot even allow one to breathe comfortably for an hour. There are cases where an employee wears the same symbolic mask for an entire 8-hour shift,” Avagyan remarked.
