Number of COVID-19 Deaths in Turkey Increases
As of April 1, 63 more people have died from the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in Turkey. This information was shared on the official Twitter page of Turkey's Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca, as reported by Ermenihaber.
In his post, the minister noted that 2,148 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed from 14,396 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. During the same period, 63 new deaths were recorded among the infected individuals.
Currently, 979 patients are in intensive care. A total of 106,799 tests have been conducted to date. So far, 333 patients have recovered from the pandemic.
According to the latest data, Turkey has recorded 15,679 cases of coronavirus infections and 277 fatalities.
Istanbul leads in confirmed cases with 8,852 (60 percent of infected individuals), followed by Izmir with 853 and Ankara with 752.
