No Coronavirus Infections in Prisons: We Do Not Have a Problem Releasing Prison Facilities, Says Rustam Badasyan
There are individuals undergoing testing in the penitentiary institutions of Armenia, and all results have been negative; we do not have any infected individuals in prisons at this time. This was stated by Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan during a press conference held at the Armenian Unified Center.
He noted that preventive measures have been implemented to respond quickly to any situations.
“Since the issue of granting amnesty in prisons has been exploited for a long time, I advise studying the statistical data about the situation in Italy and Iran—where the statistics show 120, 200 percent overload. In Armenia, the overload rate is around 43-44; we do not have a critical situation that would require us to take extreme measures and alleviate the load in our penitentiary institutions—we do not have such a problem,” the minister stated.
