‘Don’t Blame the Citizens’ – Tehmina Vardanyan
Tehmina Vardanyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the ‘Bright’ faction, stated:
“This image has been circulating online since the morning. Appropriately or inappropriately, people are blaming these citizens. Do you know what this is purely a result of? This is a consequence of the absence of a transportation system. This is the result of city authorities imitating action in their office for 1.5 years.
Don’t try to blame the citizens. People have to go to work to earn their bread. I am sure that many of you would prefer to take a taxi or have a personal car for mobility. They are not guilty because some are occupied with idleness instead of doing work.
Well, pinpoint how many people are in one place, where they are going afterwards, and who they are meeting. Well, pinpoint that.
P.S. They say it's an April Fool's joke, but the man standing at the door is wearing a mask, thus it is a depiction of our times.”
