Phone Call Recording Legislation Amended
The legislation aimed at recording phone conversations among individuals has been amended before its second reading in the National Assembly under emergency conditions. This was stated today by the Minister of Justice while presenting the draft.
He noted that certain regulations have been removed from the proposal. Specifically, it has been decided to eliminate the collection of information on the end of phone conversations, meaning it will not be possible to determine the duration of calls. Additionally, according to Badasyan, all data must be destroyed within a month after the end of the state of emergency.
Furthermore, Badasyan indicated that this data must be kept confidential by the organizations and agencies that will manage this information.
