Serious Violations of Rules Reported in Yerevan Supermarkets
Employees of the Territorial Center of the Health and Labor Inspection Body in Yerevan are conducting active monitoring of organizations permitted to operate under emergency conditions. As a result of inspections, several branches of major supermarket chains have been found to have:
- ❌ Many employees in direct contact with customers were not wearing masks,
- ❌ There were no closed trash bins for disposing of used masks (they were thrown in an open bin),
- ❌ There was no temperature measurement record book or thermometer available for employees,
- ❌ The requirement for maintaining at least 2 meters distance between workstations and employees was not observed,
- ❌ There were no lockers for outerwear; employees' home clothes were hung in open spaces.
Thus, the mandatory requirements established by the Decree No. Ц/17-2020 of the Prime Minister were not fulfilled.
A motion has been submitted to the Armenian Prime Minister to temporarily suspend the operations of one supermarket branch. Appropriate measures are being taken.
The Health and Labor Inspection Body again urges businesses to strictly adhere to the provisions established by the Prime Minister's directive to ensure the health and safety of employees. Compliance with the requirements outlined in the guidelines is mandatory for all organizations. In case of violations, accountability measures may be applied. The hot line for the Health and Labor Inspection Body is 8107.
