National Assembly Discusses Extension of State Duty Deadline for Cement Imports
The National Assembly is discussing the extension of the state duty deadline for imported cement in Armenia until December 31, up from the previous deadline of April 1.
The package of draft laws includes changes to the law on state duties and the law on business activity notification, presented by Deputy Minister of Economy Avag Avanesyan.
"The government proposes to extend the state duty for cement imports until December 31 of this year. This initiative is driven by the need to promote domestic production of this strategically important product for the Republic and to ensure a level playing field for both imported and locally produced cement," said the Deputy Minister.
