Armenia Supports UN Secretary-General's Call for Global Ceasefire
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, has responded on Twitter to the UN Secretary-General's call. “Armenia expresses its full support for the call by UN Secretary-General António Guterres to establish a global ceasefire in various parts of the world as humanity faces a common enemy—the coronavirus,” wrote the Armenian Foreign Minister.
It is noteworthy that earlier UN Secretary-General António had appealed to warring countries to establish a ceasefire. He urged a united fight against the virus that is ravaging the world.
“Let’s put an end to wars and fight the virus that is destroying our world. That is why I am calling today for an immediate ceasefire in all corners of the world. It is time to lay aside armed conflicts and focus together on the struggle to save our lives. I call on the warring parties to put aside hostility and distrust, silence the guns, and end the attacks. This is of vital importance,” Guterres stated.
