Video: Coronavirus Situation May Last Much Longer Than Initially Expected, Says Pashinyan
All analyses indicate that the coronavirus-related situation may last significantly longer than originally anticipated or predicted. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this today, March 23, during a meeting of the commission coordinating efforts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
“In this regard, we need to form certain perceptions about how we will organize life in our republic. The overall logic and strategy should be as follows: under the conditions of limiting the coronavirus, we must find and establish free and safe spaces where we can organize our lives under comparative safety while, of course, monitoring developments,” he said.
It is evident that there are enormous uncertainties concerning the coronavirus situation worldwide. Currently, no country can claim that it has definitively controlled the situation and is managing it,” he added.
Pashinyan further noted that the most unexpected information is being received from different countries. “For example, I read yesterday, I don't want to name the country, but one of the most developed countries in the world has officially admitted that they have a test deficit and are unable to test citizens in sufficient numbers.”
According to the Prime Minister, the activities of the Armenian government should be divided into two logics. “The first should be the activities of the commandant's office, which should regulate operational issues; the second part should focus on anti-crisis measures and simultaneously develop strategic steps, so that we do not face collapses in this situation,” he stated.
