Vehicles Transferring Cargo from Iran to Armenia Are Disinfected: Simonyan
In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, vehicles transferring cargo from Iran to Armenia are being disinfected. This was stated today by Deputy Minister of Economy Varos Simonyan during a meeting with journalists at the government press center.
According to Simonyan, oversight has been intensified for cargo transportations conducted at the border between Georgia and Armenia. "The same procedure is applied to cargo transfers from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia. Vehicles arriving from Iran unload their cargo at the Meghri checkpoint, transferring goods into Armenian vehicles. If this is not possible, the vehicle is escorted to the Agarak customs control area. If that is also not feasible, the cargo is handed over to the final consumer under supervision. During this process, when the vehicle arrives in the Republic of Armenia at the Meghri checkpoint, it is disinfected," the deputy minister said.
