Italy Surpasses China in COVID-19 Death Toll
Italy has surpassed China in the number of deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus. In the last 24 hours, Rome reported a new total of 427 fatalities linked to the virus. The total death toll in the country has now reached 3,405, which exceeds the figure recorded in China, where 3,245 cases were reported, according to The Guardian.
The Italian Civil Protection Agency announced that the total number of infected individuals in the country has increased from 35,713 to 41,035 on Thursday, marking a 15% rise. It is known that globally there have been over 245,900 reported cases of the coronavirus, of which 8,980 have resulted in death. More than 88,465 people have recovered from the infection.
