Snow Falls in Some Communities of Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia reports that as of March 18 at 20:10, there are closed and difficult roadways throughout the country. The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn province will remain closed for an indefinite period.

The section from Saravan to "Zanger" is difficult to navigate due to black ice. The Gyumri-Ashotsk highway (due to a blizzard) is closed, with vehicles piled up.

Snow is falling in the communities of Syunik and Lori provinces (except for the city of Vanadzor), Sevan, Jambarak in Gegharkunik province, and in the villages of Amasia and Ashotsk in Shirak province.

There are patches of black ice on the roadways in the Lori province and the Aragats region of Aragatsotn province. Fog is present in the cities of Goris and Kapan in Syunik province. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
