Public Events with 20 or More Participants Prohibited in the Republic
The head of the emergency situation command has signed a decision regarding the restrictions applied throughout the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
"Guided by points 2, 6, and 7 of the Government of the Republic of Armenia's decision 298-N from March 16, 2020, on declaring a state of emergency in the Republic of Armenia:
- The restrictions specified in point 17 of the Government decision 298-N from March 16, 2020, will apply to the following public events involving 20 or more participants:
- concerts, exhibitions, performances, theatrical presentations, and sports, cultural, and educational events;
- entertainment events;
- celebratory and memorial events, including, but not limited to, birthdays, weddings, and funerals.
- The temporary head of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Arman Sargsyan, the Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan, the Mayor of Yerevan Haik Marutyan, the regional governors, the head of the Health and Labor Inspection Body Hakob Avagyan, and the head of the Food Safety Inspection Body Georgi Avetisyan are instructed to ensure the implementation of the established measures.
- This decision comes into effect from the moment of publication," the decision states.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Armenia has reached 84. A total of 444 individuals are in quarantine, while 799 are self-isolated.
The Armenian government decided to declare a state of emergency in the country on March 16.
"A state of emergency has been declared throughout the territory of the Republic of Armenia from 18:30 on March 16, 2020, until 17:00 on April 14, 2020," the government's decision notes.
