Preventive Measures Implemented in Inter-Community Electric Trains
The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia informs that preventive measures are being implemented in inter-community electric trains servicing the Yerevan-Gyumri-Yerevan, Yerevan-Araks-Yerevan, and Yerevan-Yeraskh-Yerevan routes, as well as in stations.
The staff working with passengers, including ticket collectors, conductors, station attendants, and train drivers, are equipped with medical masks, gloves, and antibacterial materials. The areas of the stations are systematically ventilated and disinfected with special products. A systematic cleaning of surfaces is being carried out.
At all stations, passengers are regularly informed about individual behavioral norms for virus prevention and preventive measures via audio announcements. Special rooms have also been created at the stations, which will be provided to passengers or employees showing signs of feeling unwell, if necessary.
Railway workers undergo special instruction daily, and they are given leaflets about coronavirus prevention. Each working day starts with targeted instruction onsite. Every morning, the staff from the HR department calls productive work sites, checks the health status of employees, and in case of suspicion, the employee is directed to a polyclinic.
We also inform that starting March 14, the South Caucasus Railway Company has suspended international passenger transportation, canceling the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan train routes until March 24. The company is currently refunding passengers for the price of their tickets.
