Nearly 100 Individuals Isolated at Armenia's Border Checkpoints Due to Coronavirus Suspicions
Nearly 100 individuals arriving in Armenia have been isolated at border checkpoints due to suspicions of coronavirus infection. This was announced by Hakob Avagyan, the head of the Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia, during a press conference on March 18.
“Since January 24, our border checkpoints have switched to an enhanced operational mode. The personnel count has increased by nearly twofold, and we have bolstered our technical resources, personal protective equipment for our staff, and other supplies. Direct hospitalization has occurred for 65 individuals from the checkpoints, while the number of those isolated has reached 100,” said Avagyan.
Hakob Avagyan noted that among the isolated citizens are Armenian nationals who arrived on a charter flight from Italy.
