Vardenyats Pass Closed

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of 08:30 on February 28, there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads within the territory of Armenia. The road leading to the Amberd Fortress and Kar Lake in the Aragatsotn region will remain closed indefinitely.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers, while other types of vehicles can only pass with difficulty. There are patches of black ice on the Sotk-Karvachar highway.

Regarding Lars, according to information from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Department and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Additionally, there are currently 400 trucks waiting on the Russian side.
